John Doyle, DrPH, is Chief Scientific Officer and President of Consulting Services. Since joining Fortrea in October 2023, John has led a global team of expert consultants dedicated to helping Life Sciences customers navigate complex and fast-changing business and regulatory environments. His team partners with customers to understand and address a broad range of challenges using science-based strategy and evidence-based solutions, driving transformation across clinical development and market access.
Fortrea’s Consulting solutions encompass regulatory and product development strategy, research and development (R&D) strategy and productivity, market access, health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) and real-world evidence (RWE) solutions. These services support customers throughout the product lifecycle, helping them optimize decision-making and accelerate innovation in a highly dynamic landscape.
John brings more than three decades of extensive industry knowledge and experience to Fortrea, with a track record of building and operating differentiated consulting organizations that drive innovation and growth. Prior to Fortrea, he led the Health Sciences business at Exponent (NASDAQ: EXPO), a scientific and engineering consulting firm based in the Silicon Valley. Previously, John led the Global Healthcare Innovation Center at Pfizer (NYSE: PFE), where he focused on optimizing equitable and affordable access to Pfizer’s medicine and vaccines, and spearheaded healthcare innovation programs incorporating digital health, data science and real-world evidence in customer collaborations. Earlier in his career, John held senior advisory and leadership roles across the life-science industry, including IQVIA (NYSE: IQV), Analytica International (now part of Certara, NASDAQ: CERT), and Bristol-Myers Squibb (NYSE: BMY).
A recognized thought leader, John has published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers and 100 conference abstracts. He earned Doctorate and Master of Public Health degrees in Epidemiology from the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management and Applied Economics with a concentration in the Life Sciences from Cornell University. He has served on the faculty at the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health since 2005.
